Hello!

Jeremy Lenhartzen is a ceramic artist living and working out of Spokane, WA. Jeremy's experience with clay began when he took a high school pottery class, and it wasin this class that his love of working with the wheel started. After high school, Jeremy enrolled at Spokane Falls Community College, where he took more ceramic classes. After leaving the Falls, Jeremy worked for a short time at The Clay Connection, a local ceramic supply store that sold ceramic materials and offered pottery lessons. While working at The Clay Connection, Jeremy found the technical and science-based aspects of ceramics that has captured his attention to this day.

A unexpected life change saw Jeremy move to the Washington coast. He attended Grays Harbor Community College, and completed his Associates of Arts degree in 2009. After graduation, a series of fortuitous events led Jeremy to a job at Aberdeen High School, where he helped  oversee a fledgling behavior program. He soon found he had a knack for motovating and communicating with at risk youths; a job he found very rewarding. In order to keep his hands in the clay, Jeremy volunteered to teach students how to use the wheel before and after school. This experience solidified Jeremy's desire to become a high school art teacher.

After the birth of his first daughter, Jeremy decided it was time to move his family back to Spokane. Upon arriving back in Spokane, Jeremy enrolled at Eastern Washington University, where he is actively pursuing a teaching degree. His plan is to incorporate his love for ceramics with his knowledge of science to create a rich and informative art class.
